I’m Adelindra Meijer, a self-taught afrocentric painter living in The Netherlands. As a biracial woman, I embrace the multifaceted aspects of my identity, infusing
my art with a celebration of diversity and individuality. For me, painting is more than just a creative outlet; it’s my sanctuary, a safe space where I find solace and freedom.
With every new creation, I explore the deepest layers of my being, driven by the ambition to shape a world where love, acceptance, and inclusion can flourish. Behind the work
Vulnerability as strength is a recurring theme in my work. At a young age, I learned that being strong meant hiding emotions, but over the years, I discovered that true strength lies in embracing vulnerability.
This theme often appears through the presence of flowers in my paintings, serving as symbols of growth, transformation, and resilience.
My style is intuitive and colorful, inspired by the interplay between nature, human emotions, and my own lived experiences. My paintings offer a safe haven—a place where you are free to be yourself.
